Key Holder

I joined Rexall Pharmacy at 63 Front St E, Toronto (#8159) as a part-time front store sales associate in the Fall of 2019 while enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Toronto. This opportunity has helped me realize the importance of customer service, supply chain, and retail sales. It has helped me become confident in a foreign environment, improve my communication skills, and more importantly getting to know the Canadian culture. My strong passion to show the best of myself got me promoted as a Key Holder at the store within the next 4 months. I was designated by the store manager to lead, manage and represent the store in their absence and take up key responsibilities in improving the sales and supply chain of the store. It also gave me immense satisfaction to work as an essential worker during the COVID pandemic and serve the community as a frontline worker.

Key Responsibilities as Sales Clerk:

  • Responsible for promptly cashing out customers in the Front Store.

  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering customer inquiries and guiding customers towards the right product purchase.

  • Fulfill tasks assigned by the manager or supervisor in charge.

  • Perform daily product replenishments and receive products from vendors.

Key Responsibilities as Key Holder:

  • Manage and supervise a team of people to perform tasks designated for the shift.

  • Demonstrate proficiencies in telephone and front store reception, billing out customers in a high volume environment, handling customers with varying moods, and rapidly solving problems.

  • Responsible for opening or closing stores, counting the safe, cash registers, and lottery, performing customer return/exchanges and nightly duties without supervision.

  • Helped changing product planograms, placing purchase orders, performing RTVs, and adhering to marketing and promotional programs for each week.

  • Aligning with the sales plan proposed for the week to reach average items per basket.

  • Ensuring product pricing updates and modify seasonal planograms.
